Pain Management: Orthopedic Follow Up

During our initial consultation, we may use orthopedic tests to assess whether your pain is structural or neuropathic. If structural we may order imaging, refer out to a chiropractor, or prescribe targeted stretches. Whether structural, neuropathic or both, we then treat accordingly, using acupuncture, Chinese medical massage and cupping. Our goal is for you to leave pain free. This is an integrative approach to medicine, utilizing our training in Western Medical Exam and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Although we do a lot of assessments using orthopedic tests, this is where the Western portion of the treatment ends. In allopathic (western or bio) medicine chronic pain is often considered to be something that one must live with for the rest of their life. They use things such as cortisone shots that may either give temporary pain relief at best, and at worst can cause complications such as tendon rupture or bacterial infections. At Craft Acupuncture we use the balance method created by Dr. Tan to treat chronic pain. This along with needling in the local area to decrease inflammation, coupled with our own style of Tui Na creates a very potent healing response that is a safe and effective way to treat what is considered chronic pain. We can combat pain without the use of drugs or surgery. If in four visits your pain isn't completely gone then we would refer you out to have imaging performed so we can ascertain what the best next step would be for your care.
